Some great performances, in less than great conditions, at Sunday’s Women’s 10k Race.
First home was Kilbarchan’s Gemma Rankin in a time of 35:31, almost one minute ahead of Edinburgh AC’s Gillian Palmer in 36:33, with Scottish Prison Service AAC’s, Jill Knowles, having a successful return to the event after a gap of four years, placing third in 38:09.
Bellahouston Road Runner, Deborah Gray was first 40+ in 39:44; Bellahouston Harrier, Bernie O’Neill won the 45+ race in 41:03; Tracey Telfer the 50+ event in 44:24; Greenock Glenpark’s Lorna Coyle took gold in the 55+ field, with a time of 44:30; Helensburgh AAC’s Jan Fellows placed first 60+ in 46:20; Anne Marie Murray was first 65+ home in 55:43; Rose Harvie first 70+ in 57:13 and Cathie Anderson earned the 75+ title in 1:08:53. Well done to all of them and to everyone else who participated in the event.
I managed to catch a few of the runners on camera. I hope you enjoy them.
